This was a twenty minute pose. One of the reason I draw big on 18×24 inch drawing pads is to get the details of the anatomy. I will have to draw on larger sheets so I can fit the entire figure.
One of the advantages of top down design – a quick but reasonably accurate overall drawing with light marks denoting the landmarks on the body, then start adding details as the time permits, is that an unfinished drawing still might look good. I started adding details from head to toe after I lay in the rough drawing. I ran out of time around her waist. Also, the model was talking as she was posing. So, I kept her mouth open.
